" The Colors of Jaipur " Introduction; Located in the heart of Rajasthan, India lies a city that appears to have been painted with every color of the rainbow - Jaipur , famously known as the Pink City of India. My journey, through the elegant colors of the Pink City, was a delightful experience. From the palaces and busy markets to its cultural heritage I was about to venture into the mesmerizing journey through colors. Chapter 1: The History of Pink in Jaipur Jaipur, got its name the Pink City, in 1876, when Maharaja Ram Singh had most of the buildings painted pink - the color of hospitality - in preparation for a visit by Britain's Queen Victoria.
